MULTI-VITAMINS AND MINERALS
A report published in the British Journal of Nutrition describes the results of two recent studies which found multi-vitamin users have a lower body weight, fat mass and Body Mass Index, compared to non-users. Researchers also found female multi-vitamin users experience the added benefit of reduced hunger. It’s clear you can reduce appetite and lower body weight and fat mass by taking a potent multi-vitamin, but which one?
Multi-vitamins contain a range of different vitamins and minerals usually including magnesium, zinc, vitamin C and vitamin A in varying amounts. After ingestion the multi-vitamin’s casing is broken down by the gut, the vitamins are quickly absorbed and pass to where they are needed.
The B vitamins, vitamin C and vitamin D/calcium all work in exactly the same way. By enhancing metabolism, boosting the immune system and helping reduce fat storage. Adding these vitamins to your diet can help you achieve your weight loss goals quicker and more effectively, while helping your body to function at its highest ability. Chromium is a natural trace mineral that is found in the body, acting as a glucose tolerance factor and is commonly used by those watching their weight as part of a regular diet and exercise program.
Chromium supplementation assists in sugars and carbohydrates being transmitted into muscle cells instead of being transmitted into fat cells. These supplements are sold as chromium picolinate as this helps the body to absorb chromium more effectively. One Austrian study found that a group of moderately overweight volunteers who took chromium in supplement form – chromium picolinate – lost almost twice as much weight as those on a placebo. Acai berries originally from South America naturally contain antioxidants as well as some vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids. They can also help the metabolism burn fat which is why an Acai berry supplement either in capsule form or as a drink is now proving very popular, especially with dieters.
It has also been discovered through extensive research pure Acai berry is a great source of omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids, vitamins A, C and E and various minerals important for the maintenance of good cardiovascular health. And of course this can also help in losing weight.
Remember with all of these make sure you get good advice before embarking on a supplement programme. And of course combined with plenty of exercise and a well balanced diet, they can go a long way to helping you feel on top of your world.
