‘De stress with Magnesium and Balance your Body’
As your personal trainer will always tell you Magnesium is a mineral needed by every cell in the human body. It’s required for more than 300 biochemical reactions taking place within each and every one of us. Around half of the body’s magnesium is found inside the cells of body tissues and organs, and half is combined with calcium and phosphorus in bone.
But did you know? Magnesium could help you melt body fat and improve boot camp training in no time. Your body requires magnesium so that it can absorb and utilize nutrients. Without magnesium it’s impossible to shift those extra layers of fat. Magnesium improves protein synthesis so eating a high protein diet is great for overall fat loss. low levels of magnesium in the body means you’ll crave more food and therefore put on weight!
Magnesium Is especially crucial to the heart, muscles, and kidneys. It also contributes to the development of teeth and bones. It activates enzymes, contributes to energy production, and helps regulate calcium levels, as well as copper, zinc, potassium, vitamin D, and other important nutrients in the body.
But Magnesium is certainly vital in aiding fat loss. If you sleep better you will look and feel better and have more energy, If you have more energy you will train more. This in time will give your weight loss better results as the fat peals off.
The recommended daily allowance for magnesium is 400 mg per day for men and 310 mg per day for women, says the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences in the United States.
If an individual is eating the right foods and getting plenty of exercise, magnesium supplements can help their metabolism working to burn more calories. If your metabolism is slow due to an unhealthy diet such as lack of magnesium, you will be more apt to gain weight. But always check with your doctor first!
Magnesium is also needed as part of your electrolyte system. It’s required to help keep your fluids balanced properly. When magnesium levels drop, your ability to process fluids also drops. This means fluids build up in your system and cause water retention, which ads pounds.
So which foods can we get magnesium from? Well both sea and leafy leafy vegetables such as spinach, and whole grains are a good source. We can also get it from seeds, nuts, tomatoes, beet greens, broad beans, lima beans, artichoke, sweet potatoes, oat bran, barley, and cornmeal. Milk and yoghurts are also a good source and we can even get magnesium from soft water. For those trying to lose weight Applying magnesium topically as an oil means it can get straight to the place its required to be without even needing the digestive system.
It’s no guarantee because you may be overweight you have a magnesium deficiency, but it couldn’t hurt to examine your diet. Try keeping a food journal and record what you eat throughout the day and take notice of how much magnesium your diet is giving you.
This has been associated with the development of a number of human illnesses such as asthma, diabetes, and osteoporosis. This can also cause increased anxiety, stress and nervous tension! Stress in particular. Stressed people don’t sleep well and this in turn affects the metabolism possibly leading to weight gain.
There is a strong connection between stress and obesity. The stress chemical cortisol signals a metabolic shutdown preventing weight loss. It’s as if the body feels under an attack and it must hoard all its resources, including fat under all circumstances. If our diets lack magnesium nerve cells can become overstimulated, triggering muscle tension, muscle soreness and spasms.
Recent Studies have intimated high blood pressure could be significantly lowered by a diet high in magnesium, potassium, and calcium, and low in sodium and fat. In one study, the effect of various nutritional factors in high blood pressure was examined in over 30,000 male health professionals in the USA. After four years, it was discovered a greater magnesium intake was associated with a significantly lower risk of high blood pressure.
Magnesium is regarded by some as a ‘smoothie’ mineral due to its ability to relax our muscles. It serves as a chemical stopper – as long as there is enough magnesium around, calcium can’t rush into the nerve cells and activate them. If our diets lack magnesium nerve cells can become overstimulated, triggering muscle tension, muscle soreness, spasms cramps and muscle fatigue. Magnesium is also involved in the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates and fats. Some fuels cannot be stored in our muscle cells unless adequate supplies of magnesium are available.
Doctors will measure blood levels of magnesium whenever a magnesium deficiency is suspected. When levels are mildly depleted, increasing dietary intake of magnesium can help restore blood levels to normal. Eating at least five servings of fruit and vegetables daily and choosing dark-green leafy vegetables is often recommended.
So remember boot campers? Magnesium is Megga in the both the North East and everywhere else. It’s a glittering jewel in the fitness crown!!
