One of the problems we all face these days is eating out when you are trying to follow a healthy eating plan. The main problem we face these day is there is simply NO WHERE to go that serves decent, fresh and healthy food that you can follow on a healthy eating plan, especially my personal favorite kinda eating… PALEO
You see, not many places cook things from scratch. they use pre packed ingredients, many of which contain GLUTEN and DAIRY which is a huge no no on a Paleo diet and especially if you have food intolerance.
Me and the Mrs however went to a great place at the weekend….. WAGAMAMA
Yup, even the name makes you curious!
(It’s a Japenese restaurant Chain and they are literally all over the country!)
Anyhoo, I’ve been meaning to go for AGES but I wasn’t quite sure what to expect.
And boy I wish I went a long time ago!
I kid you not, the service, the decor, the hospitality….. FANTASTIC!
Not only this, the food was tremendous. This has to be one of the only restaurants I’ve been in where they have a separate menu to explain what dishes are Gluten free, dairy free and even nut free etc. A whole separate menu dedicated to it! And I’ve got to say, I was WELL impressed!
Firstly, I started with a Power green smoothie (made from fresh) which was Lurrrrrsh
And as I was trying to carb up for my training this day I opted for the Steak Ramen (picture below) Spicy, fresh, and delicious! (noodles in a spicy chicken broth topped with sirloin steak, red onion, spring onions, beansprouts, chilli, coriander and fresh lime) Check the pic…..

MrsT opted for the Surrendas curry with Chicken (a rich, hot and spicy green curry made with chicken, jalapeno peppers, onions and ginger. topped with sweet potato straws and served with steamed rice. garnished with mixed sesame seeds) And I have to say, this was also DELICIOUS too!

Yes, we played swapsies like to little school kids! (we always do)
I also had a appetizer too, the Bang bang cauliflower (crispy wok-fried cauliflower coated in firecracker sauce mixed with red and spring onions, garnished with fresh ginger)…. AND lollipop prawn kushiyaki (skewers of grilled prawns marinated in lemongrass, lime and chilli. served with a caramelised lime) which were both of course AMAZING!

Seriously guys, if you are out and about doing a spot of shopping, pop in for lunch and give it a try! The staff even offered to tweak recipe for me, it’s that fresh!
I just found out that there is a chain of these great places all over the country too! We went to the one in Metro Centre, Gateshead but there is also one in Newcastle city centre too.
Even better news! They also do take out AND delivery!
Annnnnd the WHOLE menu is available on there website!
If you ever looking to dine out and you really don’t want to wreck your diet, this place wins hands down!
