One of the common problems a lot of our members get when they first start out their new fitness regime is pain in the lower back…
So, when i seen this post this morning from Olivia Edmundson (Livfit Sprts Massage) I just had to share it with your guys!
Check this out…..
Lower-back pain
Running often places stress on the lower back, and the repetitive motion may aggravate existing lumbar problems or even may bring on persistent or intermittent lower-back pain.
Cause-
-Tight or weak lower-back pain.
Symptoms-
-Pain and stiffness in the lumbar area.
-Pain or a tingling sensation when running from the lower back through the leg.
Treatment-
– Warming up before running is key.
-Stretching exercises.
-Strengthening exercises, which would be given.
-Wearing properly fitted running-specific trainers, shoes.
-Running on forgiving surfaces.
-Cold pack.

Great article! I have suffered from lower back pains for years now and this always worried me when going to the gym.
To be honest, I am not the best at warming up but will have to try and do this more. Will keep a good cold pack with me for after my run 🙂
