One of the things that seems to get on my nerves right now (apart form my teenage kids)….

are INFLUENCERS

^^^ if you didn’t know already, this is a person that has built a strong online presence on social media,

(Normally really annoying but have a loyal group of followers who trust them and see them as relatable and knowledgeable. they post video blogs, tutorials and training tips etc.)

They can make extremely good money via ads and sponsorship.

Probably live with their parents though, play video games unto 3am, get out of bed at lunchtime to do the odd post every now and again…

You can see why none of the kids want a real job these days?

Sounds like a dream

These ‘Influencers’ can be in any trade. beauty, fashion, gaming, travel etc…

My biggest gripe is FITNESS

There is so many people out there these days trying to make a name for themselves.

Posting content daily

Usually highly controversial subjects to get more viewings

The problem I have is, a lot of these guys have ZERO qualifications and real experience.

Posting silly and often dangerous advise to people on the internet, anything to get more views.

Remember the craze when folk were paying ridiculous amounts of money to buy the energy drink ‘Prime’?

Yeh, they made gazillions from brainwashing kids online.

The fitness industry is FULL of these guys and some have been very successful.

The problem we have is, a lot of these so called ‘Influencers’ are up on a pedestal and a lot of folk believe everything they say…

Just remember, just because someone has a six pack and 100k followers doesn’t always mean they know what they are doing!

Here is some top tips from little old me…. (25 years in the fitness industry)

Flashy/functional exercises: Over head kettlebell backflips in slow motion to rave music might look cool, but it’s not going to help get you stronger, improve our results and might just land you up in physio.

Credentials matter: Look for qualified, professional coaches (like ours ?), not just someone who went viral for doing half naked squats on a paddleboard.

Fitness isn’t a one size fits all:  What works for someone on internet may not work for your goals, body, or ability level- especially if it involves sketchy supplements or brain drinks.

Form first, ego later: The best gains come from consistency and technique. The most simple compound exercises are actually better for results, not trends and tricks from tiktok.

Results are made in the kitchen: You need to look at the quality of your food, not just the calories. Just because some influencer says that junk food is ok as long as it fits in your daily calories and diet coke is ok in small doses. Doesn’t mean they are looking out for your best interests.

There is hundreds of reasons to avoid processed food (all backed up by solid studies and research papers)…

Like>> The more processed food you consume, the MORE you crave.

I could seriously talk ALL day on this, if you get 2 min today go checkout my recent article CLICK HERE

If a coach is not advising you to put better quality nutrition in your body, there is something seriously wrong.

Anyhoo, that’s my rant for today ?

If you are looking to get back in shape right now though….

And you want advise, education and support form someone with a proven track record….
