I've been coming to Bootcamp for a year and a half now and absolutely love it. Darren and all of the other members are so supportive and are always available to lend an ear and offer advice in all aspects of training, including diet issues. When I started Bootcamp, I was overweight, depressed and incredibly unfit, but that has all changed for me. I've completed Born Survivor, The Newcastle Stampede and recently ran my first 10k. I can honestly say that Darren Tyrie has changed my life and I have met some amazing people along the way, most of which have become friends that I couldn't be without!

Darren is very passionate about what he does , he is very experienced in the advantages of eating a good nutritional diet and how this can benefit weight loss and maintaining it , which will improve your overall health . The thing I like most are his sessions are good fun and varied he is genuine and he wants everyone to do well and achieve their goals.

Hot off the press!…. not gonna lie, I’ve been dying to see these before and after pictures. AMAZING results from Rachael Rodger

A whopping 3 stone lighter and just look how many inches she lost!!! ?

Checkout what she had to say…

”Had to trawl my pics to my bestie in WhatsApp chat to find this before pic! Never really took pics of myself full length for, god, ages! I was so uncomfortable with how I looked, I wore a coat over that outfit all night!

I started Pinch an Inch on a 21 day challenge in sept 2023. I lost a little bit of weight but more importantly for me, I lost … well.. inches!

I’ve been steadily keeping it up. Nicking Darren’s recipe posts, getting my steps in and having fun with it! I started this to lose weight, but I’ve gained strength, confidence, a lush place to workout and a new appreciation for fitness.” Rachael

How cool is that! Well done and welcome to the Pinchaninch Hall of Fame Rachael. ??

”Morning Darren. I wanted to message you as I’ve been feeling like I’ve lost my way recently, and like I’m not making much progress. I’ve been finding excuses not to come to class, and I always feel like I’m not as good as everyone else there. I was really inspired by Jack’s progress picture, and what you said about measuring backwards and aiming forwards. So, this morning I looked at my picture I took only 10 weeks ago when I signed up for the 21 Day Body Transformation Challenge and took a photo this morning to see how I’ve changed… there you go. There’s still a lot more I want to improve and change, and still my natural instinct is to criticise today’s picture, but I’m also starting to appreciate the positives too. I’m getting there! X”

“Ok so part of me actually cringes at seeing myself at how big I actually let myself get due to depression. I fought this battle for god knows how long (wasn’t aware I had it til I crashed and burned) but I never gave up and Darren never gave up on me most importantly (I seriously frustrated him I’m sure?????). I’ve done every group he’s had running and often I never achieved my goals or just yo-yo’d my weight. Now my head is in a far better place I’m smashing my small goals. 1st lost and a dress size down almost 2 actually since being in the inner circle! My goal next week is to get below 12st (it’s become my nemesis). I’m between a size 12 and 14 so by Christmas I hope to be a size 10. I’m posting in the group for my own motivation but hoping it spurs anybody on who feels like they just can’t do it. I remember seeing many people hit their goals and it making me feel guilt tripped, so if you need support don’t be afraid to ask as you probably aren’t the only one and sometimes all you want to hear is it’s normal to fall off the wagon it’s the getting back on that’s hard. I hope you all get to your goals good luck to you all x”

“Ok here goes…cringing sending this!!….
I joined pinch an inch about 4 months ago as I was sick of trying to lose weight and not succeeding. My fitness levels were nil when I started so I was dreading it. Everyone has been so supportive and encouraging. Seeing other people’s achievements has motivated me to keep going. It’s the best place I’ve ever been to and Darren works hard to make all feel welcome. So thank you so much!!Even though I regularly swear under my breath as it is hard work, I do love going.

I had a holiday booked but the thought of going whilst overweight made me feel down. I aimed to lose 2 stone by my holiday. I have followed Darren’s nutritional advice and recipes alongside bootcamp 3x per week. I have lost 2 stone 4 pounds so I’ve reached my target and I’m now looking forward to my holiday. Thanks to everyone for being so lovely!!”

“Hi Darren,
Joining Pinchanich has truly changed me physically and mentally and here is how… I started my weightloss journey 2 years ago in October 2017 because of this photo on the left of me on a family holiday. At that time I was constantly filled with anxiety whether it was worrying about fitting in a chair or walking along the street thinking people where judging me. But yourself and everyone pinchaninch has changed that!
I can remember initially only getting the 2 week taster pass as I thought there was no way would like it that much… and thank god I was wrong! Ever since walking through the door on that first day I have felt nothing but happiness and warmth from everyone!
I am now 10st lighter and 2 years into my Journey…
The pictures of me on the right was me on holiday with my girls loving the best year of my life… I just want to say Thank you Darren you are one of kind and you have created an amazing Pinchaninch Family!
Love Helen”

”Hi Darren, Hope you, Nicola and the boys had a fab holiday!!

Just a little update and a big thank you! Firstly I’m loving being back to bootcamp and can honestly say I’ve never had these results anywhere else. In January I was the heaviest I’d been in my life (post hysterectomy) at 10st 11lbs ?… I was trying to eat healthy but knew I needed something else as I was lacking motivation… so As you know I joined bootcamp in February… I completed the 21 Day Challenge and lost a whopping 6lbs, 12cm from my waist and 16cm from my hips!! Safe to say my motivation is back and I’m doing as many bootcamps as I can… im addicted lol!! I’m now weighing 9st 11lbs and feeling fitter than I have in a long time and Looking forward to getting started with the 12 Week Summer Shred!

Wish I’d took a before photo! I look horrendous lol! But that was taken New Year’s Eve, so not long before I started bootcamp!

So…. a big giant huge thanks to you and everyone at Pinch an Inch! See yous at booty! ?? xxx”

“Hi mate. Beth has asked me to send you these as her messenger is playing up and not working. This is her transformation in about 6-8 months of coming to bootcamp. She said thanks very much for everything and she is wanting to keep it going and push for more results!”

Beth has not only dropped TWO dress sizes!… Shes fitter, stronger and more confident than ever before! (And shes got a mint right hook!) Well done Bethany Byers, AMAZING results.

‘This before pic was taken a LONG time ago and was the photo that made me want to lose weight. That was the easy part. Maintaining was the hard part.

Everyone at the centre has their own reasons for going but for most it’s about investing in being a healthier version of themselves. So anyone putting off coming because they think it’s all diets and egos – it’s not. Its not just about weight loss, It’s about having more energy to run around after your kids, sleeping better and feeling healthier. And there are NO mirrors!! And it’s about sharing meal ideas and helping people stay on track no matter what they are wanting to achieve. Its not easy making the move to turn up the first time but once you have, you’ll realise it’s not all Love Island girls and Geordie Shore lads. It’s normal people of all fitness levels, from never exercising before to regular members. And you don’t need to come with anyone. Turn up and there is always someone to partner up with because everyone helps each other out and you just do what you can without judgement.

And you don’t need any fancy gear. Just a pair of trainers and a bottle of water (other clothing highly recommended though ?)”

I joined Pinchaninch in March after attending the odd session with my sister. Struggling to fit in exercise around being a new mam and running my own business, my mental health and self esteem was taking a real battering. With a trip to Ibiza in August to aim for I quit making excuses and dragged my fat arse to bootcamp sessions and stuck to Darren’s 12 week clean eating challenge with the odd wobble (because we are all human)!!! And by the way, what a fantastic support system that group was!! Big up fellows challengers you are all MINT!! Anyway…as they say, hard work pays off. I’ve lost 2.5 stone, a million inches and gained a different post baby body but I’m learning to slowly love it. I’m one more dress size away from my “ideal” but honestly being healthy and happy is the main thing! I’m climbing Ben Nevis in 3 weeks so back to the grind!!! Cheers Dazla ???

” I have struggled for years now with excess weight and unhealthy eating habits, 7 months ago I visited Darren to sign up for PT sessions bearing in mind I hadn’t done any exercise for years I signed up for a the 8 week weight loss course which included two 1 hour sessions per week and all the dietary advice and recipes you could wish for. I’ve since done another two and about to sign up for my fourth and visit the regular classes too. The literature in the handouts provided is very easy
to follow. Support from Darren and other members is great and I’ve met some really good members who always keep you motivated. Ive lost over 7 stone now and I’ve stopped going on the scales it’s about how I feel now not the number.
I would Idefinitely
recommend pinch an Inch to anyone wishing to make a healthy lifestyle change. My journey is not over yet Watch this space! ” David

“After two babies in two years (and a lot of cake!) I was really worried that, despite a history of regular exercise, I was never going to be happy with my body or feel fit ever again.

But here I am, four months into regular training after baby number two, feeling as fit and healthy as I ever have and that’s down to the sheer enjoyment I have of attending the classes at Pinchaninch.

It keeps me motivated to know that you will always be met with a friendly face, a challenging workout and a sense of achievement when you’ve completed it!

Darren is hands down the most approachable and motivating trainer. He has given me a much better understanding of how good food choices can really drive your results. He genuinely cares about your progress and not only pushes you when necessary, he recognises when a well done could make all the difference. He takes time to make people feel comfortable in what sometimes can be an intimidating environment and that radiates throughout all the people that attend.

If you are feeling nervous about making that first step into the unknown, I urge you to do it! In terms of your health and fitness goals you will never look back! And you will even *shock horror* enjoy it! ?” Laura Brookes

“When I started Bootcamp 3 and a half years ago I was overweight, depressed and incredibly unfit, but that has all changed for me. I now absolutely love it. I was always joining gyms and got bored with the repetitive exercises but pinch an inch is unique its something different every time you go and no two sessions are the same and one more I can honestly say that Darren Tyrie has changed my life and I have met some amazing people along the way” Andrea x— with Andrea Bossons.

”I’ve always been up and down, from chubby to medium’ish’, joining gyms but not really putting the effort in and wasting my money. I had no expectations when I joined Pinchaninch (my wife made me join) but as it turned out it’s actually been spot on & honestly changed my life for the better. I started off as a short 12 stone 34” waist, medium sized weedy (but wobbly) Fast Food Restaurant Manager who liked a drink, ate a fair bit & was knackered after any exercise whatsoever. I think I just needed someone to tell me what to do as after joining up Darren has pushed me to work hard and I’ve physically changed for the better. From day one I was made to feel welcome & even though everyone was so much fitter than me they just accepted my ability for what it was and they helped me along. I’m now a 30” waist & 1.5 stone lighter than when I joined but more importantly I feel good, I’m confident, I’m full of energy, I’m stronger than I’ve ever been before & I found out this year I can now run 13.1 miles in 92 minutes which isn’t that bad. I couldn’t have done any of this without Pinch an Inch. I look forward to sessions as they’re never the same and I go because I want to rather than needing to as a chore. Pinch an Inch pushes you to be better than the person you are today and for me to be at my physical peak at 39 is mental. I’m so glad I did this & I can’t wait to see what I’m like at 40!” Simon Fairbrother

”Pinch an Inch has given me body confidence for the first time in my life. I’ve been the “fat friend” for as long as I can remember and throwing myself into this training has single handedly been the best decision I have ever made. I have been working with Darren since May, it’s now September and with the help of healthy eating and 4 training sessions a week I have lost 3 stone and 6 lbs (19cm from my waist and 22cm from my hips). I am motivated by the brilliant energy, and the variety of the classes. I never feel bored as they are different every night. I am pushing for the 4 stone milestone before the year is out, and I owe all of this to Team Tyrie. If anyone is toying with the idea of signing up, I can’t encourage you enough to just go for it. You won’t find a better class or a better trainer, and although I’ve lost weight, I’ve also made friends for life”

After a recent trip on holiday and very uncomfortable flights there and back in economy class I decided it was time to lose some weight. I had got up to 22 1/2 stone, I had some success on diets previously but always put the weight back on. Initially I had thought about boot camps but at 22 1/2 stone I wasn’t confident that I would be fit enough for that. I looked around at different options and came across the pinch and inch website. After meeting Darren I decided to do one to one personal training with him. It’s the best decision I could have made. Darren a genuine nice guy , non judge mental on people’s size or fitness ability, he actually gets more of a buzz from his clients results than them. Working with Darren isn’t just one to one training he gives plenty of nutritional advice, on line support , a food tracker app and plenty of healthy and tasty recipes to help you. After 16 weeks I had lost 5 stone, 25 cm’ s off my waist and now get into a size 42 waist trousers rather than a size 50. These are just my interim results, my next stage is starting next week by joining Darrens boot camp classes that previously I didn’t think I could manage. Not only have I lost weight but I genuinely feel fitter and healthier, If you want to lose weight, or just get fitter and meet a great bunch of people I couldn’t recommend anyone better than Darren!

” Hi Darren… Here are my before & after photos 13 months apart…I was so unsure about sending these (hence taking so long) as i was embarrassed looking back at photo of myself on the left…But then I thought about where I am today and of all the hard work and determination and realised I should be proud with what I have achieved! I have made changes for life and could not have completed this journey without the fantastic bootcamp sessions every week since January and all the motivation from yourself, Amanda and the team at pinch an inch… I’m 4 dress sizes smaller! in total I’ve lost 4stone 10 pounds that’s in 13 months. If you want something bad enough you will set your mind and achieve it! X”

“At 17st3lb I had to do something, so I joined a fatty club and lost some weight by healthy eating. I soon got sick of that when the Syn value of Strongbow went up….
Eventually I was bullied into doing a Detox at Pinch an inch. The food side was easy, not drinking was hard & I’d never exercised in all my life, so that killed me for the first week. After the 21 day detox, I could walk upstairs without getting out of breath!
That was it; I joined as a monthly member. They’re a canny bunch; the exercise is always varied, so if you really hate an exercise (like Bear crawl) you’re only doing it for a couple of minutes or try something diffferent.
I now look like I’ve been to Belsen for my holidays and have almost hit the 15 stone mark, feel much better in myself & live a healthier lifestyle, as well as not ballooning when I have the odd glass of cider.”
Steve Milburn

” I started Pinch an inch 21 day challenge in May, Its September now and I’m still going and still loving it. A little apprehensive at first as a woman of 48 the inside of a gym was not my cup of tea. I couldn’t of been more wrong, the support and encouragement from Darren is constant, and any nerves I did have, disappeared. Everybody is friendly and supportive, even when your asking them for the 10th time “whats this exercise again??” Whatever your goals with your workouts, you get the one to one support for your journey and your strengths are noticed and encouraged. I cant thank Darren and everyone @ Pinch an inch enough, for the knowledge and support. I’m in the best shape of my life and it hasn’t been a chore, its been fun, will I still be doing this when Im 60..Hell yeah.”

”I started pinch and inch middle of February this year, I hated the way I looked and felt. I would never have my photo taken anywhere I went. My before photo was taken without me knowing, to my own disgust this photo made me want to do something about it. I then walked through Pinchaninch doors and I have never looked back. I am now 2 and a half stone down from where I started. Very friendly group everyone welcomes you in, never felt like I stood out as the newbie. Any advice I have needed I have been given as soon as I have asked. Highly recommend this place I now enjoy doing exercise which I previously hated with a passion. I have now signed up to do a 5k run for charity in June which I would of never of been able to do if I never joined. I now feel a lot better with my self thank you pinch an inch! X” Claire Stallard

”I had a wake up call from my doctor when my type diabetes started to seriously get out of control last year. I managed to loose 1st myself through diet alone but I needed more of a life style change and needed regular exercise to maintain this loss. So after Xmas I joined pinch an inch and went by myself for the first time. I have tried many other places alone and felt like a spare part so I didn’t hold out much hope to be honest. Was I wrong! I was welcomed straight away and made to feel part of the team very quickly. Everyone is so friendly and are happy to help. Darren’s advice has been brilliant and has always taken into account a serious ankle injury I sustained a couple of years ago, which to be honest has always been my biggest excuse. I love it and can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I made. Give it ago!”  Kelly

I started pinchaninch in March/April time after seeing the results between my sister and mam who had been going for some time and I love it. Everyone is so friendly which makes it more fun. Even though you are working out you have a laugh too. Darren the trainer is fantastic and really helps motivate you but without the whole aggressive shouting (like some trainers do) he really helps you when you need it and always there to give advice. I only have 10lb to go before I’m at my target weight and seeing the difference so far is motivation enough. I couldn’t thank pinchaninch enough. Anyone would be daft not to sign up. It’s the best decision I have made. Phillipa

Pinch an Inch is a great place to go to exercise with a great bunch of people. Darren pushes you hard to get the results you want, I’ve lost 2 stone but still got a way to go but I’ve got great support behind me. I love it! Lindsey Oliver

OIOI Mr T
It’s been about 6 month now since I signed up to be a member at pinchaninch, never in my life have I enjoyed exercise especially in a group!! And now I look forward to it!! I’ve achieved so much here at pinchaninch including a whopping weight loss of over 4 stone!! But on top of that I’ve became fitter, more confident, stronger both mentally and physically and more knowledgeable on what foods do what to your body thanks to Mr T’s 21 day body transformation challenges, I couldn’t of done it without the support of everyone though! Never been made more welcome to anything before, after all majority of them have been in your shoes at some point in their lives…My stomach muscles hurt just as much off laughing as they do from the intense workouts…but hey as Darren always says! Don’t wish for it! Work for it!! Cheers for everything guys!!! Keeeeemon!!

Hi Darren, As I sit on holiday I cannot help but reflect on the difference in myself now compared to this time last year so wanted to drop you a short note of my appreciation for all of your help, guidance and most of all where I’m often concerned patience! Just over a year ago I decided to join Pinchaninch on the recommendation of a friend, to be totally honest I didn’t know if I could stick to it, ive never really enjoyed exercise and I think I’ve tried most diets going, always the same, losing weight no problem but always putting it all back on again quicker. I knew I had to try something however, the tears of disgust when clothes shopping and meltdowns when going for a night out were ever more frequent and I hated the way I looked in every aspect, before putting on all the weight I was the life and soul of the party, confident and bubbly, I still feigned confidence when at my biggest but inside I was a depressed wreck! I remember turning up to my first session and seeing everyone look so much fitter than I was, wondering if they were thinking ‘who’s this fatty?’ How wrong I was, I have rarely encountered such a nice and understanding group of people who are so encouraging and helpful. I soon realized that most people at Pinchaninch have at some stage been in a very similar position. I also remember my first weigh in, 14 stone! I was so embarrassed but Darren didn’t even flicker, he offered advice, went through what to do and what not to do and the weight soon started coming off. I’ll admit I have always found it difficult to maintain weight loss but for the first time in my life, I wasn’t putting on all that I was losing. Fast forward a year, I am 2 and a half stone lighter, healthier and so much happier, I have confidence back and have really enjoyed shopping for all my new much smaller clothes! I even allow photos to be taken now which was a definite no no before! I would highly recommend Pinchaninch to anyone looking to not only lose weight but wants to maintain a healthier lifestyle and get their confidence back! I actually enjoy going to the classes (which was a surprise to me who has rarely done any exercise), it can be hard work at times, (anyone would rather be in the beer garden on a sunny day than doing squats and burpees) but it is so worth it and the sense of achievement is immense when people start noticing the difference in you. Darren is not only a trainer, he’s a teacher, a morale booster and a good kick up the ass when you need it! Him along with the members, make the difference between Pinchaninch and everything else I’ve tried. I still have a little way to go but know with all their help and support I will definitely get there. I’ll end with once of Darrens favorite quotes to anyone wondering if this is right for them ‘I’m not telling you it’s gonna be easy, I’m telling you it’s gonna be worth it’ and it is 100% worth it. Again, thanks everyone associated with Pinchaninch for all the help, I really couldn’t have done it without you. Best wishes, Joanne

I started my Pinchaninch journey in mid August when I returned from holiday. I hadn’t exercised in 7 years since before I had my son and being a teacher working a 70+ hour week used the excuse that I didn’t have time to exercise. I spent my entire holiday hiding behind my son when photos were taken and feeling generally self conscious around the pool. After a recommendation from a doctor to use exercise as stress relief I decided to give Pinchaninch a go. From the first session I loved it and I soon decided to try the 21 day challenge losing 10lbs, 16cm off my waist and 9cm off my hips. After the challenge I continued with clean eating and exercise and have gone on to lose a total of 18lbs. My fitness levels have improved dramatically and I no longer dread having to run to the bus stop! Thanks Darren! Donna Watson

Bootcamp has played a massive part in my adult life, I use to struggle with breath after running up the stairs, I was 22st 10 lb and didn’t like leaving the house as I felt that ashamed of myself. After building up the courage to go to my first class I realize everyone there was like minded and had a similar goal. I would honestly say this experience has changed my life. My current weight is now just 13st 7lb and the fittest I’ve ever been. I am much happier and much more confident in myself, Thanks for all your help and support Darren.       Chris Westoe

Darren, Okay here you go….gulp! The first picture is me on Boxing Day weighing 15st 5lbs, four days overdue!! I finally had Sebastian on the 30 December 2014. Following giving birth, my baby weight was going nowhere fast.I decided to join pinch an inch on the 15 March 2015 still weighing a grand total of 14 stone, as per the second picture. My aim was to get back to my pre pregnancy weight by the Summer as I was going on holiday at end July and was a bridesmaid at my friends’ wedding at the beginning of August. I actually got my bridesmaid dress in a size ten so there was no going back…..I’m not going to lie it wasn’t easy but I did the April detox and worked my ass off in the classes. The final picture is the end result, me on holiday at the end of July with Sebastian who was seven months old in the picture and me four pounds away from my pre baby weight! And yes I did fit into my bridesmaid dress. The classes are addictive and the variety means you never become bored or complacent. Darren and the members are fab. They are full of support and compliments as the weight comes off.My maternity leave has now finished and I’m back at work and able to fit into my work clothes, which was important for my confidence. I can’t recommend Pinchaninch enough, it enabled me to return to work, back at my normal weight, having gained and lost a grand total of 4st and 5lbs. Not a bad weight loss in seven months. Nik xxx

”The before photo was taken on holiday in Mexico at the beginning of August this year. I had slowly gained weight over the years and found gyms boring so didn’t have the motivation to go. Pinchaninch was recommended to me and I decided to give it a try. From the first session I knew I had found a way to get fit without getting bored – no two sessions are the same. I decided to do the 21 Day Challenge a go in September and lost just over a stone but I have continued with clean eating and exercise and gone on to lose a total of 2 stone and many inches! Darren is motivating and always encourages everyone to push themselves without making them feel uncomfortable.” David Watson

”Would just like to say a massive thank you to Darren for all the hard work he puts into all his sessions and giving me that push to keep going. Never realised what I actually looked like until ive looked back on pics! Will never go back to that again and never will I wear my hair like that either ? haha!” Laura Dalkin

”I wanted to say a huge thank you to Darren Tyrie at Pinch an Inch, since starting bootcamp in July when the first photo was taken, I have loved every minute. The sessions are so much fun I get a real buzz afterwards and feel like I can achieve anything! Everyone at pinch an inch is so welcoming and helpful especially to beginners.
Being able to bring my kids along has been fantastic. I couldn’t have made as many sessions if there wasn’t this facility and also I feel it’s great for them to see me excising. My oldest son, just turned 11, joined in his first session on Sunday and is now addicted too! He’s already asking when he can come again.
With Darren’s healthy eating advice and exercise I’ve lost 2 ¼ stone, 22 cms from my waist and 10cm from my hips. I am chuffed to say the least I’m 100% fitter and really look forward to the sessions. If anyone is looking for a fun way to get in shape I would highly recommend Pinch an Inch.
To my friends who are trying to lose weight I’d like to share this quote from Roald Dahl ‘If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely’. Let’s get fit and healthy for ourselves and not because of what the media portrays as beautiful.”
