I honestly don’t know ANYONE that doesn’t enjoy sleeping.
I LOVE IT
But how come on an evening, no one ever wants to go to bed?
We stay up late every night
Wake up the next day, regret it…
Then do exactly the same all over AGAIN!
Sound familiar?
Its easily done, especially when I get hooked on something like Breaking Bad
Its even worse when MrsT is obsessed about calculating how many hours sleep we are going to have before going to sleep!!
I totally get it though, the daily routine can be HECTIC
Especially if you have kids, work full time
You gotta plan prepare clothes, work, meals.
When you’ve had that last meal of the day, all you wanna do is sit on the sofa
Its the ONLY time of day when most people completely RELAX
You want to savor it
So you end up staying up later and later
I’ve been there, done it and got the T-Shirt
Problem is though, if you lose 1-2 hours sleep each night
By the end of the week it soon adds up
You end up knackered, run down, ratty with zero energy!
Last night I promised I’d get a full night sleep. Went to bed 9.30pm
Woke up this morning completely recharged, refreshed and full of energy
Ever heard the saying ‘I need my Beauty sleep’?
It’s true when you think about, the less sleep you get the worse you LOOK!
It’s actually linked to obesity too!
The fact is, if you are wanting to shed FAT, your sleep is imperative.
Here’s why….
“Ghrelin is the ‘go’ hormone telling you you when to eat, and when you are sleep-deprived, you have more Ghrelin.
Leptin is the hormone telling you to stop eating, and when you are sleep deprived, you have less Leptin. More ghrelin plus less leptin equals WEIGHT GAIN.
Your metabolism is SLOWER when deprived of the right sleep.
Do yourself a favor….
-Make more an effort to get better sleep
-Go to bed earlier
-Shoot for about 8 hours sleep EVERY night
Tips to improve sleep….
-Switch off phones, TV and wifi for at least 30min before going to bed
-Have a relaxing bath preferably with Epsom Salts (helps detoxify the body, increases your magnesium levels and relaxes the nervous system)
-And get plenty of exercise
I know it’s easier said than done, but weight gain is far more complex than people think
Try getting more sleep this week and let me know how you get on!
